"American consumers: often far from the farm but controling the fork."
This quote is the true spirit of the American consumer and explains why marketing is so important in the beef cattle industry. If we do not educate the consumer about beef cattle we will let the pork and poultry industries stomp the classic cow. If we do not market beef then the fork will slow on steak and hamburgers. If the fork slows, the money goes. We must keep beef on top and keep the consumers' stomach satisfied. As a beef advocate I want to encourage you, an American consumer, to eat beef and sink your fork into a juicy steak tonight. Realize and understand that cattle producers can produce several million pounds of beef, but if the fork is not eating beef than beef is dead. I do not foresee this happening, but consumers need to realize that through picking up some ground beef at Walmart tonight or ordering a hamburger at Sonic helps the beef industry. So keep it up consumers. The cattle producers need your fork to keep moving.
